Wrapping up the week in Arkansas

It was a productive work week, calling on cities Bentonville, Little Rock and Fayatteville to name a few. I was fortunate to have a little time to check out a couple local establishments. I can tell you that if you are in the area make sure that you stop at Fat Daddy’s Bar-B-Que in Russellville. The food was incredible and plentiful. I need to make sure that I come back again later in the year. The scenery is amazing when all the trees are in bloom. Since you can not purchase alcohol in town, I made the drive to the nearest city you can. The goal was to find a local beer. The answer to the quest was Cream Stout by Ozark beer company of Rogers Arkansas. If you are like me and like the dark coffee, chocolate taste of a stout, you can not go wrong in drinking this beer. Then again, can you ever go wrong in drinking a beer? Lol.

Whenever I travel by my Airstream, I make sure I pack my mini Green Egg smoker/grill. It’s convenient and just the perfect size for 1 to 2 people. It got a work out this trip! The site was so nice I didn’t want to leave to find a place to eat so steaks, lobster and Salmon were all cooked in the grill this week. The funny thing is, my travel expenses are much less when I pull my Airstream for work. I do not have to pay for airfare, rental car, and eating out every night for every meal. The big savings though is in hotel costs. My stay for the week at the state park was $150. I usually spend more than that for one night in a hotel. With the flu being as bad as it has been nationwide, I am happy to be sleeping in my own bed and using my own TV remote!

Stay tuned for my next trip to East Texas.
