Hawaii? Yes please!

Have you ever been so burned out and frustrated with life and work that you make a hasty decision? I did just that and it was the best decision I could have made.

I realized that there were only three states I had not visited yet. I was determined to scratch them off my list. The three are Alaska, Hawaii and Montana.

So after a particular stressful day I came home and booked a trip to Hawaii for my girlfriend and I for the next week. The exciting thing is, due to my continuous travel for work, I was fortunate to book the entire trip including airfare, hotel and rental car for $300!  Thank god for travel reward programs.

If you have never been to Hawaii, make an effort and go. You will not regret it.

We intend to go back because there is so much to see and do. A week is not long enough though it is better than not going at all.

We stayed on Maui the first night at a Yoga retreat called Lumeria

The place is very tranquil and great to release all the tensions of the day. Do not plan on watching TV in your room because there isn’t one. This was something I did not miss.

In the morning we flew to the big Island and stayed at the Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo. This hotel is the best place to stay in Hilo.  Obviously, we didn’t travel here to stay in a hotel room, so we explored.

The volcanoes were not flowing lava for the first time in 40 years while we were there, however the volcano park is worth the trip. In addition there are numerous water falls, rain forests and water activities to keep you busy.

The pictures that are posted tell the story of the trip better than I can, so I will wrap this up by saying this; make time for yourself to do the things that you desire. It will make you a happier and healthy person.
